Car A/C Repair in Harahan
When the A/C quits in a Louisiana summer, you notice fast. We find out why it's blowing warm instead of just adding refrigerant and hoping.
Common A/C complaints
- Blows warm, or cold only while moving
- Weak airflow
- A musty smell from the vents
- Noise when the A/C kicks on
- Works some days and not others
How we find the problem
We check the system pressures and look for leaks, then test the compressor, condenser, cooling fans and the electrical side of the system. A/C systems are sealed, so if it's low on refrigerant, there's a leak somewhere, and topping it off only buys you a little time.
We'll also check the cabin air filter. A clogged filter can make the airflow weak even when the rest of the system works.
What we'll tell you
Once we know what's going on, we'll explain it, what it takes to fix and what your options are. If all it needs is a recharge, we'll say so.
Tips before you call
Note when it blows warm (at idle, on the highway, after a while) and whether you hear or smell anything new. Then call (504) 737-4096 or book online. We're on Jefferson Hwy in Harahan and work on A/C in cars, trucks and SUVs.
Questions we get
Why is my A/C cold on the highway but warm at red lights?
That often points to the condenser fans or airflow across the condenser. At highway speed, air is forced through it. At a stop, the fans have to do the job.
How do I know if I have a leak?
If the system is low on refrigerant, there's a leak. We test to find where it is.
Do you work on newer A/C systems?
Call us with your year, make and model, and we'll tell you how we can help.
